Temporary Works Five years Against Tax Auditors

The Judicial body responsible for corruption felonies at Amman Court for first instance, chaired by Judge Nasser Al-Salahin and the membership of Judge Fadi Musleh, convicted two government employees of the crime of bribery, offering & accepting it from a company, and decided to arrest them in penal servitude for five-years.

The court issued its ruling, Today Monday, during a public session, in which it decided to fine the first convict an amount of 12.500 JOD, as the value of the bribe he accepted. The second convict was also fined 500 JOD.A decision subject to appeal before the competent court and enforceable immediately.

The court condemned one of the companies accused in the case and decided to fine it an amount of 700 JOD, and imprison the fourth convicted for 3 months and fine him an amount of 500 JOD.

The Public Prosecution charged five defendants, a private company, an auditor, two tax auditors, in Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority. In addition to a trader, with the felony of job investment and Negligence in performing job duties resulting in harm to the interests of the State.

After a series of trial hearings, the court established that two government employees working in auditing and taxation in the Aqaba Special Zone Authority have requested and accepted a bribe, while two others were convicted in the case, and a verdict was issued against them.

It is worth noting that this case was referred to Court by the JIACC.
