6 Convicts Handed Prison Sentences Including 3 Officials

Amman- Nov. 15 (Petra)- The Anti-Corruption Judicial Authority at Amman Court of First Instance, on Monday, convicted 6 defendants of corruption. 
The open hearing, chaired by Judge Ahmad Alomari and Judge Dr. Marzooq Alumoosh, issued the appealable verdicts based on the provided evidence, revealing that 3 of the defendants had imported a tobacco production line from a foreign country with the complicity of a former government employee and two officials. 
The Court condemned the 3 officials of job negligence, abuse of authority, forgery, and the use of forged documents and were handed prison for 1 to 3 months and a fine of JD200 to JD300 in addition to court costs. 
The Court also sentenced the other 3 defendants to 3 years in prison with temporary hard labor and a fine of over JD3,000 over forgery and corruption.
