The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission welcomed an academic delegation from the Faculty of Law at Al-Quds University in Palestine today. The visit aimed to familiarize the delegation with the Commission’s operations, powers, and responsibilities. This meeting is part of the delegation’s broader tour across the Kingdom, where they are engaging with various government institutions and departments related to their field.
During the meeting, Dr. Muhannad Hijazi, Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, highlighted the critical importance of international collaboration in the fight against corruption. He stressed that corruption spreads rapidly and has a profoundly negative impact on societies, making global cooperation essential.
Dr. Hijazi also commended the strong partnership between the Commission and similar institutions in both countries, especially in the areas of legislation, training, and strategic planning.
Dr. Hijazi further praised the pivotal role that law students play in promoting the values of integrity among young people. He urged them to actively combat corruption, underlining the Commission's commitment to supporting Palestinian efforts in the fight against corruption and mitigating its effects.
Dr. Issa Al-Manasra, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Al-Quds University, expressed his admiration for the Commission’s work in promoting integrity and preventing corruption. He emphasized the Commission’s role in setting high integrity standards and its continuous efforts to maintain ideal public sector administration, which helps protect national resources and curtail the spread of corruption.
The meeting, organized by the Human Rights and Studies Leadership Training Center, concluded with an open discussion between the students and Commission officials. During this session, students learned about the Commission’s role in law enforcement, integrity, and prevention, as well as its investigative procedures for handling complaints and reports. The students also gained insights into the national integrity standards and the various types of corruption crimes addressed by the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Law.
This productive exchange reinforces the commitment to international cooperation and the shared goal of creating transparent, corruption-free societies.
