Jordan was ranked fourth Arab world and 63rd globally out of 180 countries on the Global Corruption Perceptions Index 2023, based on Transparency International.

Jordan was among the world’s first 63 countries to fight corruption ahead of 117, and ranked a fourth Arab country after the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

Transparency International stated that most countries in the world have made little progress in tackling Corruption in the Public Sector, with the global average of the index remaining unchanged at 43 points for the twelfth consecutive year, with two-thirds of countries scoring below 50.

According to the Rule of Law Index, the world had experienced a decline in the functioning of justice systems and countries with the lowest scores on the Rule of Law Index had scored very low on the Corruption Perception Index, showing a clear link between access to justice and corruption. Denmark topped the list of countries on the index for the sixth consecutive year with a score of 90, followed by Finland and New Zealand with 87 and 85 respectively.

The Corruption Perception Index ranks 180 countries and territories through perceived levels of public sector corruption on a scale of zero, which represents a "very corrupt" to 100, representing "very fair".
