Meeting between the Jordan Integrity and UAE Accountability

The Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Dr. Muhannad Hijazi, met with his counterpart HE Mr. Hamid Abu Shbas, President of the UAE Accountability Authority, on the margins of his participation in the 2024 World Government Summit that took place in Dubai under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Vice-Chairman of the Commission, Sami Salaita, Board member, Hazim Majali, and a number of officials of the UAE Accountability Authority, discussions were raised to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in preventing and combating corruption, raising awareness of risks and exchanging experiences and experiences.

It was agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to frame cooperation between the two sides in near future.

The participation of Jordan’s Integrity and Anti-corruption Commission in the work of the World Government Summit came in response to the invitation extended by the UAE Accountability Authority to participate in panel discussions on the role of oversight bodies in protecting public resources of states, and the role of Anti-Corruption bodies in protecting public funds.

This version of the Summit explores future opportunities and challenges and highlights the world's challenges on a number of issues. It also discusses access to shared perspectives to advance government action and strengthen cooperation among the world's governments, exchange experiences and focus on inspiring stories and models in government action that have had positive effects and brought about real change in the realities of their States and societies.
