Amman- Nov.29 (Petra)- Barakat Al-Zyood- The Anti-Corruption Judicial Authority at Amman First Instance Court convicted, on Monday, a private company director of corruption after trying to steal JD 1 million by forging the identity of a deceased person.
The Court, chaired by judge Ahmed Al-Omari, Judge Dr. Marzouk Al-Amoush, and the JIACC’s Public Prosecutor Mahmoud Al-Fraihat, decided in an open hearing to sentence the convict to 7 years in prison and a fine of JD750 over forgery and the use of the forged document.
The reached decision came after revealing that the defendant presented a forged agreement and a promissory note with a value of JD988,000 to Al-Muwaqqar Court under the name of a deceased person of Arab nationality.
His scam was thwarted after one of the heirs of the deceased submitted a complaint to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission in this regard.
